- ⏲️ Prep time: 15 min
- 🍳 Cook time: 15 min
- 🍽️ Servings: The recipe makes six individual bites
- 🔪Tools: baking sheet, oven
Ingredients
- 3 Sausages
- 120g Cheese (I recommend Gruyere)
- 12 slices of Bacon
Directions
- Cut the sausage and cheese into pieces of similar size.
- Put one piece of cheese on top of a piece of sausage and wrap both in bacon horizontally. Take another slice and wrap it horizontally again. With only a single layer of bacon the cheese tends to leak out while baking.
- Put the wrapped pieces onto a bacon sheet and bake them for approximately 15 minutes at 230° C. You can adjust the baking time according to how crispy you like the bacon. Try not to overbake them so the cheese doesn’t spill out.
- Consume warm or let them cool down and store in the fridge.
Note:
- These are quite salty. If you would like them less salty, use a mild cheese instead like mozzarella.
- They are great when paired with dips or butter Mayo.
- They can easily be reheated but they also taste good when eaten cold.
